Kabiraj Sharma has been in the business of pets for the last 16 years or so. His years of dedication, commitment, and above all his love for pet animals have made him one of the most popular persons in the town.

“Ever since I was a small child I always loved pet animals from the bottom of my heart. With the passage of time, this passion further grew and my love for pet animals turned even more intense than it was before. And as it was inevitable I eventually landed in the pet care business”, said Kabiraj Sharma the owner of Barahi Kennel and Pet shop, new road, Pokhara.

Before Sharma started his own pet shop, he had already worked with different organizations which were also involved in pet care activities.

“To start a pet shop you must have enough practical knowledge about pet care. Without having proper knowledge about pet care one should not jump into this business. Unfortunately, there are many such unscrupulous pet shop owners who give wrong information about pet care. They even don’t hesitate to provide the wrong medicines to pets. Due to lack of a proper inspection from the concerned authority, many such pet care shops are involved in malpractice that could even risk the life of pets”, said Sharma emphatically.

Speaking with this scribe, Sharma said that his team consisting of pet care workers and veterinary doctors works round the clock to serve pets in Pokhara and out of the Pokhara valley.

“We have a team of professionals and we have several years of work experience in this field. We, therefore, take complete responsibility for your pets. Just make a call to us and leave everything on us. You should not even remember when to give which dose of medicines. We duly keep all those records on our computer database and reach you before the due date of vaccination. Well, you can call us if your pet suddenly turns unwell or has other problems”, added Sharma.

Nowadays many pet lovers do complain of being cheated by pet shops. Pet shops charge them hefty money for an original breed but they deliver the mixed breed. The problem is when the puppies are merely days old, it is very difficult for the pet lovers to determine whether the breed is original or not.

When asked about this problem of many pet lovers with Kabiraj Sharma, he said, “This is a very common problem. I receive almost daily such complaints from several pet lovers. I’m sorry to say but the truth has it that many pet shops in Pokhara sell mixed breed pretending to be the original ones.

The only solution to this problem is that you need to contact a pet shop which is run by professionals. Such professional pet shops will never do anything that damages their goodwill. For example, you cannot find anyone who can say we sold a mixed breed from our shop. In case of that we are ready to take the pet back and give proper compensation to the buyer”, promised Sharma.
