SHOULD ARTISTS BE GIVEN FULL FREEDOM TO EXPRESS THEIR CREATIVITY?

Image
Artists are the most creative people in our society. Should there be any restriction upon them or not? This is the subject of discussion. Photo: LB Thapa  Even artists cannot be left unbridled. A healthy limitation is a must. Proper monitoring of creative artists is equally important. Every artist’s creation must be monitored whether it is appropriate or not.   By SHARADA KUNWAR Without an iota of doubt, artists should be given complete freedom to express their ideas. However, this does not mean that there should not be a limit. Of course, inappropriate materials must not be served. There must be a clear demarcation line between creativity and vulgarity.  Artists are respected all over the world for their creativity. Artists like poets, singers, painters, and so on are the nation's assets. People as a whole appreciate the creativity of the artists with both hands. Unconditional love and appreciation of the people give emotional and psychological impetus to artists.  Photo: LB

It is quite noticeable that more people from those poor nations, one like ours, have shown a keen desire to immigrate and follow the western culture and lifestyle. Even many parents encourage their children to leave home to abroad for various reasons.     Many people simply believe that leavin

Photo: Julia M Cameron "Some people may be unable to go to the classroom in person, maybe by virtue of a job, distance from institutes, or some health problems. In a situation, one like this one can go through online classes. Similarly, online training can be preferred if it is of a short time period as moving into a new place may be quite difficult. Lab practical, research in the laboratory cannot be performed online. They need to be performed in well-equipped labs." By SURUCHI MALLA Online education can be beneficial for those people who have difficulties attending day-to-day courses in the classroom. Many people believe that attending classes and training in the classroom provides better knowledge and understanding while others believe online study gives knowledge along with saving time to reach the institution.  More or less but the online education system is present in every no

GLOBAL WARMING: A SERIOUS THREAT TO HUMAN EXISTENCE

Image
Among others, a rapid pace of deforestation is the main cause of global warming. Photo: João Vítor heinrichs.  "The whole world is much worried about global warming. In fact, Global warming and deforestation have a direct relationship. Mindless cutting of trees will eventually lead to a hotter climate and reduce the oxygen level in the environment", writes Asbina KC. By ASBINA KC Forests are the lungs of the earth. They maintain the ecosystem of nature to keep it going. Forests are important in the sense that they absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen into the atmosphere. Thus, the forest is the key factor that plays a physician’s role. Without a doubt, the forest is the most precious resource that nature has bestowed upon human beings. However, in the present context, organization and agricultural expansion have primarily caused deforestation. This will eventually lead to a hotter climate and less availability of oxygen for humans. Deforestation has removed several trees

Science has been making rapid advancements with a number of new inventions like never before. Like many other branches of science, medical science has also made remarkable progress. From cloning to test-tube babies, artificial heart transplantation, and many more…everything is possible today. This is nothing but the wonder of science.   However, this is also true that at times when medical science finds it unable to treat a particular illness, the faith healers have done the impossible. The way they treat a patient may be unconventional and unscientific, but it works.    Yes…it is the world of Dhamis and Jhankris. They use mantras and treat patients. This traditional healing practice is handed down from one generation to another since time immemorial. These faith healers say that one should have complete faith in the practice. The ma
