WRITING TASK 1 SAMPLE ANSWER
The diagram illustrates how aluminum cans are recycled and used to make different aluminum items, including cans.
In the first stage, the used cans are collected from the disposal bins. Then those bins are transported to the factory, where all those disposed cans are passed through different stages like cleaning, sorting, and shredding. Ultimately, those aluminum cans are compressed and broken down in the machine.
In fact, compressed cans are heated to a certain temperature. The heat is continued until the cans turn into liquid aluminum. The hot liquid aluminum is passed through a machine and converted into a thick aluminum sheet of around 2.55 mm–6 mm.
Later, the aluminum sheets are passed through a machine, where they are cut into pieces to make various aluminum items, including cans of different shapes and sizes.
Around 74% of aluminum items made in the UK are from recycled aluminum cans.
