WHAT IS GOOD: ONLINE EDUCATION OR ONSITE EDUCATION?

After the Covid pandemic now more people talk about the pragmatic utility of online education. Photo: Julia M Cameron

"Some people may be unable to go to the classroom in person, maybe by virtue of a job, distance from institutes, or some health problems. In a situation, one like this one can go through online classes. Similarly, online training can be preferred if it is of a short time period as moving into a new place may be quite difficult. Lab practical, research in the laboratory cannot be performed online. They need to be performed in well-equipped labs."

Online education can be beneficial for those people who have difficulties attending day-to-day courses in the classroom. Many people believe that attending classes and training in the classroom provides better knowledge and understanding while others believe online study gives knowledge along with saving time to reach the institution.

More or less but the online education system is present in every nook and cranny of the world. However, it came into the limelight during the COVID pandemic when physical classes became impossible. In a situation like that online education plays a pivotal role in gaining education without hindrance. Thus, those people who live far away from institutions can be benefitted from online education.

Mostly when choosing online education one needs learning devices like computers, mobile phones, etc. where proper internet access is a must. However, this is also possible that during the absence of the monitoring persons, students slip into all kinds of social media. This may cause online classes less effective as compared to classroom courses.

However, going to class in person is a traditional way of getting knowledge. Many people believe that attending classes in person is one of the most effective ways of getting knowledge. Many people prefer classroom study over virtual classes as it is more interactive and interesting. Teachers can monitor each student for their performance, mistakes, and progress properly. Students focus more on studying and taking part in class activities to make them more creative as well as productive. In the classroom, every subject matter can be discussed more clearly than in online study. One can ask questions with the teacher face to face.

Some people may be unable to go to the classroom in person, maybe by virtue of a job, distance from institutes, or some health problems. In a situation, one like this one can go through online classes. Similarly, online training can be preferred if it is of a short time period as moving into a new place may be quite difficult. Lab practical, research in the laboratory cannot be performed online. They need to be performed in well-equipped labs.

In conclusion, the education system should be chosen in accordance with personal requirements. Both online education and traditional classroom study are important according to situations encountered in life. A person can select any of them they are comfortable with and learn on daily basis to update their knowledge.
