Over one thousand JHOLE
appointees of various political parties are confirmed to lose their jobs!
If you oppose corruption, mismanagement, nepotism, favoritism, black marketing, and bribery, then you must wholeheartedly appreciate and support Balen’s government. If you disagree with any of these, then you belong with Harke and his company.
Balen’s government has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against those thugs and parasites who grew rich by sucking the blood of poor Nepali people and hoarding stacks of notes in their homes. But even that wasn't enough. These political leaders went on to grossly misuse state power, making political appointments for their party cadres in as many as 52 government and non-government departments.
Now the government is preparing to sack around 1,200 political appointees made during the previous government's tenure, which had filled various state agencies with Congress, UML, and Maoist party cadres. These appointees were enjoying state facilities at the expense of the state, as subordinates of those parties.
Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane has started a campaign to revoke all political appointments made under the cover of power. Following this, the government has initiated a process to dismiss such appointees en masse.
Previous governments had made various types of non-civil service appointments—including political and judicial appointments in public enterprises, regulatory bodies, universities, social service sectors, and various secretariats. The government now plans to cancel around 1,200 such appointments at once. However, there is a possibility of legal complications if these appointments were made in accordance with the law.
Therefore,
the government is consulting the Attorney General and senior legal experts to
avoid legal challenges, as the courts could issue interim orders halting the
dismissals. To prevent such complications, the government is preparing
necessary laws before proceeding with the sackings.
The process of revoking political appointments from previous governments is now in its final stage. The Cabinet is likely to approve the dismissal of all political appointees soon.
According to sources, Prime Minister and Council of Ministers’ office bearer Rabi Lamichhane, in his first address after the formation of the current government, had already suggested that all appointees from the previous government should resign voluntarily to pave the way. Following that, the Prime Minister and ministers have gathered detailed information on this matter over the past two weeks.
Based on this, the government has reached the final stage of revoking all political appointments. According to the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers, the dismissals will cover appointments in various bodies.
By removing such office-bearers, the government intends to completely evict Congress, UML, and Maoist cadres from state facilities.
