One should never forget that power comes with responsibility. The greater the power, the greater the need to behave responsibly. Many economically and militarily powerful nations act sensibly, intelligently, and diplomatically. But the way Donald Trump behaves can only be described as "goon diplomacy."
"Might is right"—this phrase fits Donald Trump perfectly. He appears to act more like a local thug (galika gunda) who intimidates nations and orchestrates the kidnapping of a sovereign nation's president. And that's not all. He also threatens to seize Greenland at any moment, spreading fear, panic, and terror among nations.
Trump’s reckless behavior has severely tarnished America’s image as a guardian of democracy. He is acting more like a brutal dictator—his actions even worse than those of Saddam Hussein or Muammar Gaddafi. Today, Donald Trump rules through brute force, threats of violence, and the misuse of state power.
The world has witnessed how Trump treated Venezuela. His administration exerted maximum pressure on Nicolás Maduro’s regime, slapping on oil sanctions to cripple the economy. When that proved insufficient, Maduro was charged with drug trafficking, and a $15 million bounty was placed on his head. This was a one-sided assault by the Trump administration, and the world watched helplessly. Then came the day when Trump’s administration kidnapped Maduro from his own home—like the most ruthless gangsters. Is this how an American president should behave?
Now consider Iran. The Trump administration assassinated General Qassem Soleimani in January 2020. The manner of his killing was that of a contract killer. After the assassination, Trump threatened other leaders that they would meet the same fate unless they obeyed him.
He bombed a girls' school, killing over 100 innocent children, then tweeted about destroying the entire Iranian civilization with his notorious bombs. Do you think a president should make such reckless statements? Vladimir Putin has been engaged in the Ukraine war for years. He has lost countless young soldiers, infrastructure, and suffered economic blows—yet he has never made such reckless statements against Ukraine or its people. His remarks remain measured and calculated.
A bully always believes he can intimidate anyone with his
power—until he meets someone who teaches him a harsh lesson. Iran proved to be
a hard nut to crack. Donald Trump, the bully, never imagined Iran could strike
back so fiercely. Literally speaking, Iran hit so hard that it left Trump's
backside red and swollen.
Trump was certain that his F-35s, formidable aircraft carriers, B-2 bombers, and other military hardware made America invincible in any war. But Iran proved him utterly wrong. Iran precisely struck and destroyed his prized weapons—turning them into toys—leaving Trump gasping for air. Now he seeks revenge at any cost. If left unchecked, Trump would not hesitate to use nuclear weapons against Iran. In short, the world has never seen such a reckless and unscrupulous president in the history of the United States.
NATO and Europe have always stood by the U.S. in every move it deemed right. They followed blindly. When America attacked Iraq, the claim was that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction. NATO and Europe supported the war. The war ended, Saddam Hussein was killed. Did America find any weapons of mass destruction? No. So how can that war ever be justified? Why did NATO and Europe follow America? Why couldn't they say no? The world will forever ask these questions.
The truth is, NATO and Europe have always followed America like obedient servants. But this time, even they have maintained a healthy distance from the Trump administration. As a result, Donald Trump finds himself completely alienated in his confrontation with Iran.
One thing is absolutely clear: after this standoff with Iran, America has lost nearly everything—its aura of invincibility, the credibility of its weapons, its control over Gulf nations, and its grip on the oil trade. Now, America's allies in Europe, Asia, and the Gulf no longer believe in its capacity as a security guarantor. If America could not protect its own military bases in Gulf nations, how can it protect other countries? This is America’s humiliating defeat at the hands of Iran—a bitter reality, difficult for Donald Trump to digest.
Due to Trump’s reckless actions, America is not only losing its credibility, but in the days to come, U.S. sanctions will also lose all significance. If Trump turns friendly nations into foes, which countries will follow his sanctions? Soon, America will remain a superpower only on paper. Without a doubt, Donald Trump’s goon diplomacy has brought America to a screeching halt.
