Man’s condition is critical after being hit by a scooter
Nowadays, you may have noticed how young boys recklessly ride their motorbikes. By riding in such a frantic manner, they not only endanger their own lives but also pose a serious threat to pedestrians and other riders.
Many would agree that strict action should be taken against these careless bikers. Unfortunately, there seems to be a gap between what the police claim and what actually happens on the ground. Authorities often pledge to crack down on such reckless riders, but the reality tells a different story.
“From dawn to dusk, several young boys pass through the main road near my house on their modified motorbikes, including Enfield Bullets, riding as if there’s no tomorrow. I’ve witnessed several accidents near my home, most of them involving these modified bikes,” said Mitra Gurung, a local resident of Ranipauwa, Pokhara.
In a recent incident, the District Police Office, Kaski, made public the photo of an injured man in an effort to locate his family. The man was suddenly struck by a speeding scooter. The impact was so severe that he lost consciousness and slipped into a coma.
According to the police, the scooter bearing registration number Ga 22 Pa 1358 hit the man near the Pokhara Industrial Estate last Sunday at around 11:30 AM. Following the incident, police appealed to the public for help in identifying the man.
According to the District Police Office, Kaski, the injured man, estimated to be around 35 years old, is currently receiving treatment at Fishtail Hospital in Pokhara. His condition is reported to be critical.
A police team from the Rambazar Police Post, Kaski, rescued the man after the accident and rushed him to the hospital for treatment. Police have urged anyone who recognizes the critically injured man to contact the nearest police office or inform his relatives.
The police team from
Rambazar should be commended for their prompt action in rushing the injured man
to the hospital, which undoubtedly saved his life. I urge the public to assist
in identifying the individual and locating his family as soon as possible.
