Panchse perches on high hills, which is surrounded by majestic mountains. Panchase has already been popular among domestic and foreign tourists.  From the peak of Panchase hill a fine view of great Himalayan like Dhaulagiri, Fishtail, Annapurna I, Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Annapurna IV, Himchuli, and Annapurna South can be observed.

This is the reason why throngs of tourists regularly visit this wonderful place. Frankly speaking, I was always fascinated with the mesmerizing beauty of Panchase. I wanted to visit the place long ago, but it could not become possible for some reasons. Finally the other day five of my friends and I set out for the trekking for Panchase.

We left our village at 5 o'clock in the morning with our backpacks. We bought some foods in Kusma and left for Dimuwa by bus. We walked for about three and half hours and reached to Chitre. Chitre is a small village on the way to Panchase. The cascaded paddy fields at Chitre looked extremely awesome indeed.

We had little conversation with the local people of Chitre, who gave us a lot of information about Panchase that was important for us. We also had our lunch at Chitre. Meanwhile, there I saw an old house, which drew my attention. It seemed that the house was abandoned by its owner. I felt as if the house itself felt lonely without someone living in it. I took its photo for my own satisfaction.

We continued walking uphill, following a stone paved path. We entered a forest that we had to cross at the earliest as the forest had earned a bad name for wild animal attack. However, we were not scared of wild animals because we were also not less wild than those wild animals.

We rather enjoyed our trip, watching every creation of nature. When we crossed the forest we reached an open place and there we saw a small hut, perhaps made with the intention of taking shelter for the travelers. There was some firewood to cook food as well. We had no intention to stay overnight in that hut. We knew Panchase was round the corner. After walking for a while we finally reached at Panchase Lake.

The crystal clear water of Panchase Lake won our hearts and we forgot the pain we had while reaching there. Hardly had we walked for one hour than we reached at a place where located a beautiful Buddhist monastery. The surrounding environment of that monastery was extremely peaceful. We wanted to stay bit more but the evening was approaching fast and we had still not reached Panchase, our destination.

We walked one hour more and finally reached Panchase. We were exhausted and wanted to have heavy dinner. After getting refreshed we had dinner dal, bhat and tarkari and slung into the bed only to wake up the next morning. It was a good weather in Panchase. We could see an array of beautiful mountains and hills all around us. Those tall mountains augmented the beauty of Panchase. Whole day all of us walked around Panchase and visited as many places as we could. We were surprised when someone told us that we were at the elevation of 2600m from the sea level. Oh, it was really amazing, we were at that height.

One thing, weather in Panchase is highly unpredictable. One moment there is a bright sunshine and the next moment there might be drizzling or having downpour. This is a typical characteristic of Panchase.   We spent one full day and the next day we planned to return to Pokhara. We decided not to follow the same route we had followed earlier, because we wanted to see new places of natural beauty.

We were very glad to have taken that decision. We walked all the way from Panchase and finally reached to Kusma bazaar. We had little rest and had snacks to replenish the energy level.

We all friends sat at Kusma and waiting for the bus to Pokhara. We were all busy browsing our digital camera and looking at our photos we had clicked during our trek. Our concentration from the camera was disturbed when restaurant owner signaled his hand towards the bus. We pain him snacks money and rushed to the bus to Pokhara.
