GLASS COATED STOVES COULD BE MORE DANGEROUS THANK YOU THINK OF
This is true. Not all glass top gas stoves are safe unless they are used with utmost care. Never keep hot objects on the surface of the glass-coated stove. Don’t spill hot milk or water on its surface.

Generally, it is seen that while working in the kitchen, more attention is paid to the safety of LPG gas cylinders. Many of us must have heard or read in newspapers about the terrible blast of cooking gas cylinders (LPG cylinders). Therefore, we try our best to keep the gas cylinders a little away from the burning stoves in the kitchens, is it not? I am sure you agree with me.
In fact, LPG is stored in heavy metal cylinders and they are relatively safe for the user unless a gas the cylinder is expired, leaking, or physically damaged.
However, the real danger is not from the LPG cylinders, but it is from the cooking gas stoves. Not all kinds of stoves are dangerous, but especially glass top stoves could be life-threatening. There are many brands of glass top stoves circulated on market today. And they claim that they have used special materials and modern technology to make their products safe and durable.
This scribe met with some people who either still use glass top stoves or used in the past and collected their experiences. From them only did I come to know that glass top gas stoves are not safe. Many companies sell such stoves and claim their products are completely safe and secured but it is not true at all.
ALL GLASS-COATED GAS STOVES ARE DANGEROUS
Yes, you read the heading correctly. All of the glass-coated gas stoves are potentially dangerous for people. In contrast, the manufacturers claim that they use thick and special kinds of glass, which are not affected by constant heat and pressure. No, don’t be fooled anymore. This is not true.
One woman told me that how her glass-coated gas stove from a reputed Prestige company broke with a bang and the tiny pieces scattered all over the kitchen. She got several scratches on her hands and some on her face as well.
Many people from India to Nepal have complained against Prestige Company and SunFlame company for selling poor-quality glass top gas stoves for the consumers. By selling such low-quality glass top stoves, they are not only losing their goodwill but also consumers. Now the situation is that many people who used poor quality glass top stoves of Prestige Company have started hating other products of the same company.
IF BY
MISTAKE YOU PUT ANYTHING HOT OR SPILL HOT LIQUID ONTO THE GLASS SURFACE OF THE
STOVE, IT WILL BLOW UP LIKE A BOMB
This is true. Not all glass top gas stoves are safe unless they are used with utmost care. Never keep hot objects on the surface of the glass-coated stove. Don’t spill hot milk or water on its surface. Its impact could be disastrous. My purpose is not to mislead or create panic among the consumers for the glass top gas stoves. However, it is my social responsibility to make them aware of the products.
All glass top gas
stoves will be broken at some point when hot things come to their direct
contact. My first advice is that no housewives should take unnecessary risks by
buying glass top gas stoves. There are so many gas stoves available on market,
which are perfectly safe and secured in the kitchens.
Anyway, if you have
already purchased a glass top gas stove then you should use it with maximum
care. Never bring hot things to direct contact with the surface of the glass
top. Don’t keep more weight on the glass top either, nor do spill hot liquid on
the surface. If you follow these precautions then you can keep your kitchen
safe. LB Thapa is a Pokhara-based freelance writer and author.
