Unemployment has become a serious subject of discussion today. Unfortunately, in recent years the unemployment rate has soared tremendously.
The demand for skilled manpower and other resources is always limited. In a situation like this, creating more employments has become extremely difficult and challenging. Increasing poverty and unemployment have become an inherent qualities of the Nepalese economy.
The government’s apathy to create more job opportunity for young people has only made things go bad to worse. In the meantime, short-term and long-term economic policies should be formulated by the government. This has also not been done as effectively as it should have been.
Poor infrastructures in developing sectors will have a direct impact on economic growth. No economic development can be imagined without proper growth of infrastructures of various development sectors.
Moreover, poor infrastructural development, unwise utilization of natural resources and so on can be attributed to poor economic growth of the country. Due to uncontrolled inflation, the lives of many poor people have become worse.
Political stability is the first thing that Nepal needs today. A coalition government and ever-changing governments will encourage high-ranking people to misuse their powers for their vested interest. At the same time, people should be wise enough to make prudent decisions for the benefit of the nation. They should not elect those old politicians who have neither enough physical strength nor any vision to bring a change in the nation.
Unemployment has always been a major concern for Nepal and the Nepalese people. Proper use of natural resources and human resources can change the face of the country for sure. In recent years, we have seen what happens when an honest person takes the charge of the electricity department. Hard work, honesty, and a desire to do something for the country has changed Nepal from an electricity buyer to electricity seller. This is the same country where Nepalese people were forced to live under 18 hours load shedding. But today Nepalese people don’t only enjoy round the clock electricity but also Nepal exports electricity to its neighboring countries.
Thus, it can be concluded that there is nothing impossible if the people at the helm decide to bring a change. What is required is dedication, commitment, and an honest desire to do something for the nation.
